A ‘one-stop shop’

Testing and treating conditions of the digestive system is often difficult for the patient. Until now, a visit with the gastroenterologist could lead to an appointment at a radiology center for an upper GI series, then to an outpatient center for a visual exam of the throat and esophagus, on to a lab for blood testing, and later to a hospital or surgery center if any surgical treatment was needed.

Today, all this and more can be done in one building. “We knew we were shuttling our patients all over town to get their problems diagnosed and treated,” says gastroenterologist Mark Taormina. “We thought it was ridiculous for them to have to do all that traveling. That’s when we decided to build Midwest Gastroenterology. 

Everything in our building has been designed for the comfort and convenience of our patients,” he continues. “Even the location,  just off Highway 291 and Woods Chapel Road, was chosen for its convenience.
