Physicians at Midwest Gastroenterology are Kansas City's digestive health experts. Dr. Marc Taormina and Dr. R. Wade McCullough are board-certified gastroenterologists and provide state-of-the-art care in our convenient and comfortable gastroenerology clinic. Our mission is to provide outstanding health care services, specifically in the area of gastroenterology.
Colonoscopies save lives. Many patients choose Midwest Gastroenterology for their colonoscopy screenings. This simple procedure reduces the risk of colon cancer. A colonoscopy is recommended for anyone age 50 or over (age 45 for African Americans), or for anyone else experiencing signs and symptoms of colon cancer. Colonoscopy is also recommended for individuals who have a family history of colon cancer. A colonoscopy may be used to diagnose common disorders, particularly Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis.
Midwest Gastroenterology offers the latest technologies for GI screening, including the endoscope (or EGD.) Patients at risk of esophageal cancer or stomach cancer, those who suffer from reflux/heartburn, and even those with gastroparesis may require frequent endoscopies. Our physicians use an endoscope to get a clear look at the upper GI tract - from the esophagus to the stomach.
Midwest Gastroenterology is a center of excellence for Irritable Bowel Disorders (IBD). Patients with Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis trust our team at Midwest Gastroenterology to provide care that will help manage their symptoms, reduce flare ups, and control any pain. Our Lees Summit gastroenterology facility is set up with a dedicated infusion room and infusion nurse for patients who require medications to manage their IBD. We also offer clinical research trials for patients with IBD disorders to provide cutting-edge treatments for those who seek relief.
